With more than 60 years of processing experience, our staff has experience in a wide variety of species and qualities. Led by our owner Kurt Shmon, Imperial Seed is committed to keeping the growers’ interests first and foremost while maintaining contract quality.

Imperial Seed’s roots run deep in Western Canada, dating back to 1950 when our primary focus was on processing and marketing quality seed oats and seed wheat. Our shift to forage and turf seed multiplication continued to the point that by the late 1970s our processing was entirely focused on the forage and turf seed market.

The foundation of Imperial Seed’s success and growth is a history of quality and integrity. Today these traits continue to provide the basis to establish and maintain long term relationships.
